Does KMG manufacture its own products?
KMG manufactures, formulates, blends and packages its Electronic Chemicals products. KMG’s Wood Treating Chemicals business manufactures and formulates pentachlorophenol for the wood utility pole market. KMG’s Pipeline Performance business manufactures and distributes drag-reducing agents, industrial valve lubricants and sealants, as well as related products such as lubrication equipment and fittings.

We estimate the global semiconductor fabrication materials market is approximately US$12 billion per year. Within this market, we estimate the high purity process chemicals segment – the segment KMG competes in – represents approximately US$1.5 billion per year.

Within our Wood Treating Chemicals business, there are approximately four million treated wooden utility poles sold in the U.S. each year. We estimate 45% of these poles are treated with a solution containing penta. We are the only major manufacturer of penta in North America.

Within our Pipeline Performance business, we serve the global drag-reducing agent and valve maintenance and services markets, which we estimate is approximately $600 million globally.
