1.What does KMG do?
 KMG Chemicals, Inc. is a global provider of specialty chemicals, serving three distinct markets. KMG is a leading supplier of high purity process chemicals for technology customers, especially semiconductor, photovoltaic and flat panel display manufacturers. KMG is the leading U.S. manufacturer of pentachlorophenol for treating wooden utility poles and cross-arms. KMG manufactures and distributes industrial valve lubricants and sealants primarily for the oil and gas storage, pipeline and gas distribution markets.

 KMG’s customers in the Electronic Chemicals market include many of the world’s major semiconductor manufacturers. KMG's customers in the Wood Treating Chemicals market are wood treaters, such as Stella-Jones and Cox Industries. In the Industrial Lubricants market, KMG serves a variety of valve manufacturers, pipeline operators, gas distributors and oil and gas storage providers.

3.Does KMG manufacture its own products?
 KMG manufactures, formulates, blends and packages its Electronic Chemicals products. KMG’s Wood Treating Chemicals business manufactures and formulates pentachlorophenol , primarily for the utility pole market. KMG’s Industrial Lubricants business manufactures and distributes industrial valve lubricants and sealants, and supplies related products such as lubrication equipment and fittings.

We estimate the total global market for electronic chemicals is approximately US$8 billion per year. Within this market, we estimate the high purity process chemicals segment – the segment KMG competes in – represents approximately US$1.5 billion per year.

Within our Wood Treating Chemicals business, there are approximately two million treated wooden utility poles sold in the U.S. each year. We estimate 45% of these poles are treated with a solution containing penta. We are the sole manufacturer of penta in North America.

Within our Industrial Lubricants business, we serve the global valve maintenance market, which we estimate exceeds US$200 million in annual sales.
